About the event
Veronica Orrù is a filmmaker born in Sardinia and currently based in Milan. Her work focuses on diary films and found footage. After graduating in film studies from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, she began working as an assistant director, editor and archive researcher. She is co-founder of the association Re-framing home movies, which aims to improve and preserve family films and private audiovisual memories. In 2024, her first short film, A Rare Way to Smile, premiered at the Filmmaker Festival in Milan. In the same year, she co-directed the film Sembrava non finire mai. In 2025, the short film Inevitabile, created together with Marco Gentilini, won the award for best green film (ex aequo) in the competition ‘3 minuter a tema fisso’ at the 43rd Bellaria Film Festival.
