A solo canoe journey into North Carolina’s Black River gradually shifts from quiet environmental observation into perceptual disorientation after an unexpected capsizing. Blending hand-processed 16mm film, fragmented text, and essayistic narration, 8 Seconds at the Three Sisters explores the unstable boundary between external landscape and internal experience. Moving between meditation, humor, and sensory overload, the film becomes less a document of place than an attempt to inhabit it from within.
